Overhead insulated cables with a rated voltage of 1kV and below are low-voltage insulated cables designed specifically for overhead power lines with an AC rated voltage U0/U of 0.6/1kV. 1kV overhead insulated cables can use copper core, aluminum core or aluminum alloy core conductors. The insulation materials include weather resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE) and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), corresponding to JKV, JKY, JKYJ and other model series. Users can flexibly choose according to project budget, conductivity requirements and laying environment. The long-term operating temperature of the conductor of a 1kV overhead insulated cable varies depending on the insulation material: PVC and PE insulation should not exceed 70 ℃, and XLPE insulation should not exceed 90 ℃. Among them, XLPE insulation can carry larger currents under the same conductor cross-section and is suitable for lines with higher transmission capacity requirements. The laying temperature requirement is not lower than -20 ℃, which can adapt to the winter construction conditions in cold regions. In terms of minimum bending radius, when the outer diameter of the cable is less than 25mm, it shall not be less than 4 times the outer diameter of the cable, and when the outer diameter of the cable is 25mm or more, it shall not be less than 6 times the outer diameter of the cable. A reasonable bending radius design facilitates the smooth laying of the cable in narrow spaces such as poles, crossarms, and building attachments.
Compared with traditional bare wires, 1kV overhead insulated cables have added insulation layers on the outer layer, effectively avoiding phase to phase short circuit faults caused by tree branch contact, bird nesting, foreign object suspension, and adverse weather conditions, significantly improving power supply safety and reliability. At the same time, the insulation layer also slows down the corrosion rate of conductors in coastal and industrial pollution environments, extending the overall service life of the line. Aluminum alloy core models (JKLFH, JKLH, JKLHYJ) further reduce cable weight while ensuring good conductivity, making it easier for construction, installation, and later maintenance. 1kV overhead insulated cables are widely used in urban low-voltage distribution networks, rural power grid renovation, street lighting, temporary construction power supply, agricultural drainage and irrigation lines, and scenic area power supply scenarios. They are an ideal choice in the field of low-voltage overhead distribution that combines safety, economy, and durability
